Baroody Bakes (K-5th): There's never a time to say no to fresh baked breads and pastries. Each day, children will get a chance to create a yummy treat from pies to loaves of bread, cupcakes and biscuits. There is SURE to be something they find irresistible.

 

Run Club (K-5th): Is your child ready to burn off some steam & have some fun? Join this co-ed running club where your child will have the chance to meet new friends, have a team building experience, move their bodies with fun running activities such as relays, speed, agility & quickness, & pacing all packed into an hour of movement, character building, and team fun. We will be building our cardiovascular system and muscles.

 

LEGO®: Pokémon Engineering  (K-2nd): Calling all Pokémon trainers! With the Pokémon Championship approaching, join our enthusiastic Play-Well Instructors as we build and catch our favorite Pokémon, rescue Pikachu from Team Rocket, take a ride on the S.S. Anne to uncover rare and mystic Pokémon, and battle to see who will hold the title of Pokémon Master. Come along on our journey to catch 'em all!!

 

TGA Afterschool Tennis (K-2nd): GET READY TO SERVE, VOLLEY, AND RALLY WHILE HAVING FUN WITH TGA!

Our trained and verified coaches combine athletics, academics, and life lessons to create fun and engaging tennis programs.

We include sport skill development, rules & etiquette lessons, physical activity, and a steam component that examines the concepts through the lens of the sport.

All equipment is provided.

 

Get Loopy Crocheting Class (3rd-5th): Crocheting is not only a relaxing hobby, but it also helps children deal with stress and coping in stressful situations. It is great for children that deal with anxiety and helps tune the fine motor skills of the children. It is also a fun hobby to learn. In this class, the children will start with a scarf in the Fall and Winter, and a small blanket in the Spring and Summer. Children will learn the different techniques of crocheting. There is an age restriction on this class, however, this class can be tailored to fit all age groups. For the smaller age groups, the techniques used will be more of weaving than crocheting.

STEM Adventures (K-5th): Embark on an exhilarating journey into the diverse world of STEM with our STEM Adventures program! In each course, students will delve into various aspects of STEM, exploring topics such as robotics, chemistry, coding, and even game design!

Our hands-on approach includes interactive experiments such as creating potions and crafting slime, as well as problem-solving activities like developing robotic contraptions! With an immersive and entertaining curriculum, your child will develop essential skills, nurture their curiosity, and uncover the endless possibilities that STEM has to offer. Don't miss out on this exciting adventure!

 

Beginner Karate (K-5th): This class is offered by a Kent Gardens Elementary school mom who is an international Certified black belt Instructor!! This class is designed for all belt levels ages 5–11. Students learn the basic levels of martial arts while participating in a fun, exciting atmosphere. Class is tailored to student’s individual needs and helps them grow to their fullest potential. Karate classes not only focus on instruction, but also learning valuable lessons related to discipline, motivation, self-control, and continual improvement. No previous training is required! 

The activities included: Basic self-defense skills, traditional karate forms known as Kata, tumbling skills/agility, a variety of Martial Arts activities, exciting/fun games, leadership training, board breaking, performance & awards (Trophies)!!! Character development, respect and self-control are promoted during the training to help students cope with life pressures. 

The instructor for this class is a highly qualified Black Belt with international Instructor certification through the IWKA and Penn State Karate. The Instructor for this class - Sensei Mami Gebereegziabher - Renshigo 5th Degree Black belt

Martial Art uniforms are included in the cost of the class!

 

Cartooning Art (K-5th): Young Rembrandts™ Cartooning curriculum uses a structured stepwise format to teach students to create their own animated characters in humorous settings. We break down objects and ideas into simple shapes, then use exaggeration, caricature, and personification to playfully construct our own cartoon images. Our Cartooning curriculum develops academically relevant skills, including spatial-motor planning, mental discipline and fine motor skills, while providing a fun, enriching experience for our students. New lessons every week!

Chess (K-5th): Beginners learn the fundamentals & strengthen their skills. Intermediate students focus on tactics & strategies. State champion Coach Charlie Edelman teaches puzzles, tournaments, stories, and more to keep kids hungry for learning and play!


THURSDAYS

Minecraft Survival Skills (1st-5th): For young gamers looking to take their Minecraft skills to the next level, this program challenges children to sharpen their survival skills in the adventurous world of Minecraft. They’ll explore more advanced gameplay, such as tracking coordinates, food sustainability, resource organization, building shelters, and crafting essential tools. As they navigate various biomes and face environmental challenges, they'll develop resilience and persevere through setbacks. Expect your child to set goals for growth with guided tasks to help them progress in the game. No device needed! We provide everything your child needs to dive into the immersive world of Minecraft.

 

Soccer (K-5th): This program will consist of fun games using soccer skills which will lead up to playing small-sided soccer. As the days progress, games will involve more and more soccer skills, involving different moves, dribbling, ball control, passing, and shooting. Games will require individual 1 on 1 skills with some requiring team participation.

 

Slime Time! (K-2nd): Who doesn't LOVE slime?! It's easy to make and is guaranteed to be FUN! Some are magnetic, some are inspired by famous wizarding books. Others are glittery or glow in the dark. It doesn't matter how we make it, it's the fun that comes in figuring it out. Our slime program is designed to see just how many ways and kinds of slime we can create. We'll discuss what an activator is and why no slime is complete without it. And, we will learn how different ingredients will change the outcome, texture and use of slime. Slime is awesome, but learning why it works is pretty cool too!

 

Spring: Contemporary Art (K-5th): Join us this Spring as we explore the exciting world of Contemporary Art! Learn about how these famous artists changed the world of art by coloring outside the lines. In this class you’ll create pinch pots, coil pots and slab hand built pottery from start to finish. You’ll even get a chance to glaze your own pottery. Our materials are professional grade stoneware and get fired in our kiln making the pieces both beautiful and functional! Ready to explore? Come on and let’s get muddy!

 

Debate Club (3rd-5th): Students will select debate topics they find appealing, and learn the art of persuasion. Students will work in rotating groups and practice their debating skills in a supportive environment, including developing arguments, issuing rebuttals, providing examples, rebuilding their case and summarizing points of view. Students will learn to think on their feet and enhance their public speaking skills, gaining self-confidence in the process.

Note: This club is structured as 3 independent and different modules to be offered year-round (preferred) or individually in the fall, winter or spring.
